About Jackson

My name is Jackson Larson, I am a Junior at Carthage College studying Marketing and Geographic Information Systems. My hometown is Monticello, Minnesota.

Freshmen Year

My Journey at Carthage has been eventful! As a freshmen I started school studying Marketing and a member of the DIII Carthage Red Men baseball team. By the end of October I made the decision to step away from the team due to wanting to spend more time focused on my course load as well as beginning a full time job at Adidas to alleviate the cost of tuition. During the semester I became very active in Residence Life Council. It is an organization that strives to build community within our residence halls. At the end of the first semester I was headed home with a perfect report card and optimism about digging deeper into college life. During the spring of my freshmen year I went through the application process in hopes of being hired as a Resident Assistant. I was fortunate enough to be hired onto staff for the following school year. I finished spring semester with perfect marks as well as an added minor in GIS.

Sophomore Year

Training for my new role as a Resident Assistant began 2 weeks before any other students moved onto campus, which gave me a huge advantage to adjust back to campus life after a summer of living and working at home. Between my Classes, RA role, E-board responsibilities for RLC and joining Phi Kappa Sigma International Social Fraternity. My first semester was jammed packed. Still I was able to achieve straight A’s. Second semester had its challenges with looking for internships and digging deeper into the Carthage Marketing program. When the dust settled I had accepted an Sales Development Internship offer for Digital River in Minnetonka, Minnesota, I was inducted into National Residence Hall Honorary, and was rehired as an RA for the same community.

Junior Year

After a wonderful 10 week internship, I returned to Carthage for another year of RA training soon enough classes and organizations started rolling. I was elected to be Vice President of our chapter for Phi Kappa Sigma as well as Communications Coordinator for National Residents Hall Honorary. Through the first two months I was in communications with a connection about a Inside Sales internship at Dell Technologies. I was able to go through the interview process and I was extended an offer for the 10 week inside sales internship at the Hopkinton, Massachusetts office. Additionally I was accepted and attended to the Phi Kappa Sigma Ambassador Leadership program the first week of January.
